People with prediabetes or other risk factors for type 2 diabetes can reduce their risk of the disease by participating in the Harold Hamm Diabetes Center's PreventT2 program.
PreventT2 is part of the National Diabetes Prevention Program led by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The curriculum is clinically proven to reduce a participant's risk of diabetes by more than half.
PreventT2 is a year-long program that begins with weekly meetings and transitions to monthly meetings to help participants maintain their healthy lifestyle changes. The program is Medicare-eligible and is offered at no cost to OU Physicians patients.
The next session of PreventT2 begins June 3 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., at the MAPS 3 Pete White Wellness Center, 4021 S Walker Ave., Oklahoma City
PreventT2 is for persons with prediabetes only. A brief health screening may be required to determine eligibility.
